- Jolie Frabotta, New Owner
- "A family pet is
very important & very special. Although most people enjoy having their
pets with them at all times, occasionally a trip out of town may necessitate
leaving your pet. If you're planning a vacation, why not give your dog
a vacation too?
- For over seven years,
people have learned to call Citizen Canine Bed & Breakfast For Dogs for the
ultimate in boarding and day care. They are located at 2209 N. Halsted
st., phone 773 935-3853. Continually voted Chicago's best boarding
since it's inception in 1995, you can be assured that your pet will receive
the very best care at Citizen Canine. Their excellent cage-less
facilities are heated and air conditioned, and they feature Chicago's
largest outside exercise areas. Their experienced, friendly personnel
offer 24 hour supervision to give extra kisses & hugs. Your pet will
receive only the food you provide plus quality treats during the stay.
- They also
feature expert grooming of all breeds by appointment, performed by skilled
professional, and doggy day care is available every day. Your
furry-footed friend will know he's special when you take him there.
For your peace of mind, be sure to call Citizen Canine Bed & Breakfast For
Dogs when you must be away and boarding or day care is needed. You
will feel secure knowing your pet is receiving the best care possible.
Stop in soon. Open seven days a week, overnight boarding is $45, and

- BEST PET SITTER
...At Citizen Canine Bed & Breakfast for Dogs (2209 N. Halsted st.; 773
935-3853), the city's only cageless kennel, staff members keep a 24-hour
watch over guests, all of which have been carefully prescreened to ensure
none is too aggressive or shy. Television sets in the house are always
kept on for the dogs' viewing pleasure, and daily "tennis" matches are held
in the courtyard. Rooms are equipped with Murphy beds so the animals
can nap whenever they want. "The goal is to make the dogs feel at
home"..."

CHICAGO SOCIAL July1995
-
-
Chicago is going to the dogs. On any given
summer day in the city, the streets are filled
with four footed pedestrians taking their faithful owners for a walk. No
doubt about it, Chicagoans love animals. For the discriminating owner,
nothing is impossible to find that will make life a little more luxurious
for these special family members. If you think all this gives new meaning to
the saying "Its a dogs life', book a reservation at Citizen Canine,
Chicago's finest bed and breakfast for dogs. A Victorian boarding home in
Lincoln Park. Vacationing guests are not confined to cages at Citizen
Canine, but are
-
allowed to run free through the house. On hot days
panting puppies cool off in wading pools.

It's a dogs life
-
-
Citizen Canine is a froufrou bed and breakfast for dogs in Chicago's Lincoln
Park. These dogs have it so good they don't want to go home. Although
the clientele tends to be affluent- half from the city and half from the
north and west suburbs such as Lake Forest, Winnetka, Oakbrook and
Naperville-Citizen
Canine is relatively laid back.

Lincoln Park has gone to the dogs. Citizen Canine 2209
N. Halsted st., Chicago's only bed and breakfast for dogs. The full-service
hotel for pooches offers boarding, daycare and grooming, and it is the
city's only cageless boarding house. The operation is designed to provide
dogs with the best care they can receive. "Dogs give Citizen Canine four
paws". The dogs are supervised 24 hours a day. We monitor their feeding
schedule and we can take any special request". Not every dog can stay at
Citizen Canine, each candidate must be approved by the owner to determine
whether he or she will be able to share treats and play with the other
animals. We are not a facility for every dog. We can't be. We look for a
sociability factor". The staff is very attentive to all the dogs' needs and
the customers seem to be pleased.
